Inspiring Creativity: Strategies for Staying in the Flow

by Julia D. Stege, MFA

Marketing requires an fairly steady flow of creativity so we can come up with a compelling message, frequent blog posts, sales copy for our products and services, the list goes on.

The question is, how to avoid creators block and stay in the creative flow?

My first suggestion would be to relax. Creativity is our birth-right as humans. It is a cliche that our best ideas come in the shower but it's also true. I definitely recommend showers, baths, naps, massages, walks in nature, or a stroll down Main Street to get relaxed and create the space for creativity.

Another strategy for inspiring creativity is to visit museums, galleries, libraries, music and book stores. Being around great feats of creativity does a lot to foster the growth of ideas.

If you like Google, then searching can be a great source for inspiration and ideas. Pick any topic and start searching. See what you find.

Don't worry, the stream is right there ready to be tapped!
